Panorama songs have now become a lucrative market for studio arrangers as singers and composers all try to record their songs with the hope of getting them played for the Panorama competitions.

The last count has Panorama songs at 50-plus and counting, sadly many of these songs would not even get played once on the many radio stations in this country.

Clearly there are favourite songs as steelband arrangers have already started working with these songs. Some of the big ones are "Shock Attack" by Edwin Pouchet and Alvin Daniell.

Pouchet is arranging "Shock Attack" for Silver Stars and Duvonne Stewart is also doing it for Renegades. Phase 11 Pan Groove is going with Boogsie Sharpe's "More Love" and so too is Valley Harps as arranged by Michelle Huggins-Watts.

Brian Bean Griffith's "Tell Dem" is another favourite and will be played by Steel Xplosion arranged by Terrence BJ Marcelle as well as Fascinators as arranged by Darryl Reid.

Boogsie is arranging "Keshorn the Javelin Champion" for Katzenjammers while Merrytones will be playing "Champions" as arranged by Richard Gittens.

Amrit Samaroo is doing "My Band" for Melodians, Kion Robinson is doing "Pan and Soca" for LH Pan Groove and Cheo Cato is arranging "Wettin" for Pamberi.

Redemption Sound Setters will be coming with Richard Gordon's arrangement of "More Than An Oil Drum" and Exodus will do Pelham Goddard's arrangement of "Gold", so too will Buccooneers as it does Seion Gomez's arrangement.

From the south, Fonclaire will do "Addicted" by Ken Professor 'Philmore', Hatters will play "Superman" as arranged by Dr Jeannine Remy, Golden Hands will play Venessa Headley's arrangement of "Gold" while Deltones will do Carlton Alexander's arrangement of "No Getaway".

Codrington Pan Family will play "She Ready" arranged by Cary, Keshia and Khari Codrington and Birdsong will be doing "The Last Word" arranged by Andy Narell.

Other Panorama songs out there includes "All Night Long", "Are We Better" composed by Barry Smith, "La Bell Rosette" sung by Lord Superior and composed by Michael Germain, "One for Bertie", by Helon Francis composed by Earl Brooks and Alvin Daniell, "My Band" composed by Amrit Samaroo and sung by Oba Synette.

There is also "Javelin Jubilation" by Crazy, "Hammertime" by DeFosto, "Despers" by Debra Bernard-Vasquez and "Contagious" by Erica Reid.

Jan 12 – Single Pan Preliminary South/Central

Jan 13 – Single Pan preliminary East

Jan 17 – Small and Medium Preliminary Tobago

Jan 18 – Small and Medium Preliminary North

Jan 19 – Small and Medium Preliminary South

Jan 20 – Small and Medium Preliminary East

Jan 21 – Large Bands visit to to pan yards all regions.

Jan 26 – Single and Small Bands Semi Finals

27 – Medium and Large Bands Semi Finals.
