Parade starts at 7 a.m.

Port of Spain

TODAY’S Independence Day parade is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain and will end at 9 a.m. at the St James Barracks.
The National Security Ministry says after leaving the Savannah the parade will then head South along Frederick Street then turn West on to Park Street and will continue west along Tragarete Road where the parade will continue until it gets to the St James Barracks.
The National Security Ministry advised yesterday that residents of Woodbrook, Newtown and St Clair should take note that there will be the firing of cannons during the ceremony and to please secure pets like dogs and cats who tend to be sensitive to loud noises.
