Pensioner chopped to death

A 70-year-old Fyzabad pensioner was chopped to death during an altercation with a 31-year-old man yesterday. 

Cosmos Hypolite was discovered dead by police in his home at Sanderson Avenue, Fyzabad at around 3 p.m. Police said they received an anonymous call and went to Hypolite’s home and found him bleeding and motionless. District Medical Officer Dr Carmona examined the body and pronounced him dead. Investigators were told that earlier yesterday Hypolite had an altercation with the suspect near their home. 

The suspect was detained by police at a house in Colley Street, Fyzabad, a short distance away from the scene.  

The suspect was in police custody last night.
