Police: ‘Hit-and-run’ victim still unidentified

Police are continuing investigations into the death of an unidentified man who is believed to have been killed in a “hit-and-run” accident along Churchill-Roosevelt Highway on Sunday morning.

Police reported that at about 4.30 a.m, motorists noticed the body of a man of mixed descent, slim built, and clad in a blue jeans, lying face down on the shoulder of the east-bound lane of the highway in the vicinity of Valsayn.

The police and emergency health services were notified and upon their arrival, they found the body of a man, who police said looked as though he may be in his 50’s, lying on the ground with multiple wounds to his head, chest, and legs.

A female officer at St Joseph Police Station told the Express yesterday afternoon that the man remained unidentified.

Anyone with information which could lead to the identification of the individual is asked to contact St Joseph Police Station.

Investigations are continuing.
