NORTHERN Division police arrested 43 people between Thursday night and Friday morning as enquiries continue into several murders that have been plaguing Arima and its environs since late last year.
The officers who were led by ACP Wayne Dick along with Snr Supt David Abraham and included Sgts Hosten, Lewis and Charles began around 11 p.m. on Thursday and ended at noon on Friday.
Police said 41 warrants were executed at the homes of the suspects located at Arima, Malabar, La Horquetta, Maloney and Carapo.
The men were taken to various police stations where they were being questioned.
These interviews are expected to continue throughout the weekend with a view to laying charges this week.
Officers also seized one kilogramme of marijuana along with a Browning pistol and 12 rounds of nine mm ammunition.
Fifty-five fixed penalty tickets were issued to motorists during roadblocks done between 11 p.m. on Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday.
