THE 13-year-old schoolgirl, who was gang raped after being abducted on Tuesday in San Fernando by a fake taxi driver, has been referred to the police specialised counselling unit.

Senior Supt of the Southern Division, Cecil Santana, told the Express yesterday the Victims Support Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service was asked to intervene in the case of the teenager.

Police were searching for the suspects.

The driver, at the wheel of a purple car, picked up the girl at Knox Street, San Fernando.

The girl reported that the driver picked up two other men along Harris Promenade. One of the men placed a plastic bag over her head, pulled a string around her neck and ordered her to stay still.

An object was stuck into her back and one of the men threatened to kill her, she told police. With the bag still over her head, she was taken to a house at an unknown location where she was repeatedly raped.

After the ordeal, she was dropped off at South Oropouche.

Police said they had a description of one of suspects, but a sketch is not yet available.
