Police officers have removed three kilogrammes of cocaine and a Smith and Wesson revolver with six rounds of ammunition from the streets.
The illegal items were found by a team of officers led by Cpl Garcia during the execution of a search warrant at a house in Upper Santa Cruz.
The exercise was a joint venture among officers of the Northern Division, North Eastern Division, and the Eastern Division Task Forces and began last Friday and ended yesterday morning.
The police exercise also resulted in hundreds of fixed penalty tickets being issued and the arrest of a Guyanese national.
Police reports are that a search warrant was executed at an apartment in McBean Street, St Joseph, where officers found 1.744 kilogrammes of cocaine.
A 45-year-old Guyanese national, who was in the apartment at the time, was arrested.
The exercise also included road blocks which saw 526 fixed penalty tickets being issued for breach of traffic regulations such as driving without proof of insurance or a valid driver's permit, driving with defective tyres, driving with defective lights and driving without the use of seatbelts. –JV
