Police seek witnesses to teen's killing

By Susan Mohammed

POLICE continued to appeal to witnesses to the death of 14-year-old Moruga schoolboy Meshac Forbes who was stabbed to death near his home on Friday night to come forward with information on the case.

Forbes, a pupil of Cowen Hamilton Secondary School, died after an altercation with another teenaged boy.

Police said details on the killing were sketchy, but learnt that an argument arose between the two teenaged boys over a girl.

Forbes, of Samuel Cooper Trace, St Mary's Village, was pronounced dead at the Princes Town Health Centre after his father, Clinton Forbes, rushed him there for medical treatment.

The elder Forbes, received a phone call shortly after the incident and picked up his son's body from the roadway and took him to the health centre.

Police said the teenager had been stabbed three times about his body, and they believe the weapon was a knife.

A woman from Forbes' community said she heard that a group of men encouraged Forbes into the fight, which ended in his tragic death.

Sgt Ramdeen is continuing investigations.
