An unidentified man was killed this morning in a vehicular accident along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.

Police reported at about 1:00 a.m. a man of mixed descent was walking along the north bound lane of the highway in a southerly direction. Police told the Express that at the time of the accident, the man was in the centre of the road, with his hands clasped as though he was praying.

As a result of this, several motorists had cause to swerve their vehicles in an attempt to avoid the individual, police were told.
At about 1:05 a.m. while in the vicinity of the Mid Centre Mall, a white Nissan B-13 motor vehicle operated by a taxi-driver from Arima came into contact with the man.

The deceased's body went through the front windshield of the car, and exited through the back, before landing a short distance away on the highway. He died instantly.

The police and emergency health services were notified and a party of officers from the Chaguanas Police Station, including PC Singh, PC Bissoon, and PC Hepburn visited the scene.
