Pupil, 16, found hanging at home
Cops suspect relationship gone sour
A 16-year-old fifth form pupil of St Mary's College, Port of Spain, was found hanging from a rope at his Maraval home on Monday night.
Police officers are working on the theory that the apparent suicide may have been triggered by a relationship gone sour.
George Kazanjian of Nutmeg Avenue, Haleland Park, Maraval, was discovered by his younger brother, Paul, hanging from a rope which was tied to the burglar proofing in the washroom of their home.
The discovery, police said, was made around 8 a.m. yesterday. He was last seen alive around 10 p.m. on Monday by his father watching television at his home, police said.
A suicide note was also found in George's room which indicated that he loved his family but they would not understand why he took his life, police said.
District Medical Officer Dr Ibeleme examined the body and ordered it removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy to be conducted.
A team of officers from the Maraval Police Station led by Cpl Gregory Moses visited the scene and is probing the incident. (AS)
