Police Social and Welfare Association president Anand Ramesar was recovering at the San Fernando General Hospital last evening after being injured in a highway crash on Thursday.
His wife, attorney Vanessa Friday-Ramesar, was treated for minor injuries and discharged.
Ramesar, 42, suffered a broken pelvis when his vehicle flipped several times along the Solomon Hochoy Highway, near Claxton Bay.
Ramesar was driving his black Toyota RAV4 SUV north along the highway when he lost control around 11.30 a.m.
The two were headed to their offices in Port of Spain.
Friday-Ramesar is an attorney at British-American Insurance. They have two children and the family lives in Princes Town.
Michael Seales, general secretary of the Police Social and Welfare Association, said Ramesar’s condition was improving.
“He is resting comfortably at hospital. We are waiting on the doctors to decide whether they will have to operate on him,” he said.
Ramesar, he said, was in excruciating pain.
