The much-anticipated Carnival party "Red Light District" has been cancelled.
Organisers of the event carded for Friday, February 7, at the O2 Park in Chaguaramas, issued a media release stating they were forced to cancel the event.
In what has been described as some technical issues that would impede the seamless execution of the event, the organising team on Thursday agreed to refund patrons who had already purchased tickets for the much advertised and promoted fete.
In a statement, a member of the organising committee said while the cancellation of any event is often regretted, for them, this one even more so because of the planning that had gone into it.
“We know a lot of people anticipated the event and we ourselves, after creating the blueprint for the event that would mimic internationally acclaimed shows, are disappointed that it has come to this.”
The Red Light District event was set to feature Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann and the Asylum Vikings, Ravi B and Karma, Lyrikal, Cassi, Kerwin Du Bois, Blaxx, Problem Child, Swappi and Jaiga.
Ticket holders are guaranteed a full refund, according to event officials.
“We regret the inconvenience, however, we are asking patrons to return to the outlets where their tickets were originally purchased to receive their full refunds," said the official.
Information will be made available on the event’s Facebook page at keyword: Redlight District, should there be any questions or concerns.
