A TEENAGER was killed instantly on Wednesday night when he was shot multiple times about the body while sitting outside his San Juan home.
The death of Brandon Ramkhelawan has led officers to believe he may have been murdered as a result of an altercation he had with some men in the area sometime ago.
It was around 7.30 p.m., Ramkhelawan, 18, of Sammy Lane, was sitting on a bridge outside his home, when a Nissan Almera motorcar pulled up alongside him, said police.
Two men came out of the vehicle and shot him several times about the body before getting back into the car and speeding off, investigators said.
Officers of San Juan Police Station were notified by residents in the area and arrived on the scene shortly after. But by then Ramkhelawan was already dead.
Homicide detectives also visited the scene and found several spent shells near the teenager’s body.
Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams said the teenager’s killing has taken the murder toll for the year to date to 392.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations into the latest killing.
