Sando man shot

POLICE are searching for a suspect from Port of Spain who shot a San Fernando man near his home on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 2.15 a.m. when Ronald Baptiste, 28, a scaffolder of Warden Street, Vistabella, was walking along a track from Purcell Street to Warden Street.

Baptiste told police he was accosted by a man whom he knows as "Six" of Port-of -Spain.

The gunman pulled out a gun from his pants waist and pointed it at Baptiste. He fired two shots, one which struck the victim on his right ankle.

Baptiste was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was warded.

In another incident, a 23-year-old labourer was robbed of $4,000 while he slept in a hammock at a friend's house at Moruga. The victim of Fifth Company, Indian Walk, Princes Town, was at the home of a friend at Toppin Trace, St Mary's Village, when he fell asleep in a hammock.

When he awoke some time later

he discovered the cash missing from his wallet which was in his pants pocket.
