Shot 9 times after buying doubles

AN Arima man remained in critical condition at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope yesterday after being shot nine times after purchasing doubles at the corner of O’Meara Road and Churchill-Roosevelt Highway.

Police said the incident occurred at 9.45 a.m. after the victim, 47-year-old Sheldon Issac, had purchased two doubles.

As the man was walking back to his car, he was approached by a gunman who opened fire on him. The gunman then ran off.

Issac was taken to Arima District Hospital, following which he was transferred to the hospital in Mt Hope where he remained up to last night.

Arima Police are continuing investigations.
