Subhas Ramkhelawan resigns as Senator

The Office of the President this afternoon disclosed that Senator Subhas Ramkhelawan has resigned. The following is the statement from the Office of the President -

His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona, ORTT, SC, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, received today (April 10, 2014) the resignation of Senator Subhas Ramkhelawan. His Excellency has accepted the voluntary resignation of Mr. Ramkhelawan.

In his letter dated April 10, 2014, Mr. Ramkhelawan conveyed to His Excellency, his sincere appreciation for the opportunity to have served as an Independent Senator

His Excellency, in a letter dated April 10, 2014 to Mr. Ramkhelawan, has expressed his deep appreciation to Mr. Ramkhelawan for services rendered to the Parliament and by extension the people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in his capacity as an Independent Senator.

His Excellency further wished him all the best and all success in his future endeavours.
