ToolsT&T unaffected by Kellogg's cereal recallLocal consumers have no need to fear a cereal recall of one of their favourite brands. The Kellogg Company last week initiated a voluntary recall of certain Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal packages due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part, the Michigan, USA company said in a consumer release. Last Wednesday, the company made the decision to recall 2.8 million Mini Wheat boxes from circulation internationally as a precautionary measure to ensure quality standards on its products. Local distributor for Kellog's breakfast cereals Hand Arnold Ltd said in a statement yesterday that the recall applied only to the Original Frosted Mini Wheats and Original Unfrosted Mini Wheats in varying sizes only. Sharon Gunness-Balkissoon, Hand Arnold's chief executive, said the only product available from Hand Arnold Trinidad Ltd in Trinidad and Tobago was the Strawberry Frosted Mini Wheat Bites 15.5oz, which is unaffected by the recall. "This item is not on the recall list," the statement said. |
