A SECONDARY school teacher appeared in court charged with molesting a Third Form pupil while on the school’s compound.
Kelvin Ramnarine, 37, of St Mary’s Village, Moruga, appeared in the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court charged that last Tuesday he committed an act of serious indecency against the boy, at the school where he teaches.
Ramnarine appeared before Magistrate Avason Quinlan and was not called upon to plea to the indictable charge.
Constable Ocho laid the charge after a 14-year-old alleged that he was touched on his genitals by a man who placed his hand in his (the boy’s) pocket while at school.
Ramnarine, who is unmarried and has no previous or pending matters before the court, was yesterday allowed to continue on the $50,000 bail he was granted at the police station the previous day.
The case was adjourned to May 12 and transferred to the Princes Town First Court.
The previous day, a businessman of Princes Town appeared before Magistrate Debra Quintyne facing two charges of indecent assault and one charge of serious indecency against his step-daughters.
The prosecutor made no objection to bail being granted, but asked that conditions be imposed against the bar owner who allegedly committed the acts last month.
It is alleged one of the girls was kissed and the other was touched on the genitals.
The 53-year-old of Princes Town was placed on $150,000 bail and ordered to make no contact with the alleged victims.
The case was adjourned to May 15.
