INVESTIGATIONS have been launched into thousands of dead fish discovered off the Chaguaramas shoreline.
Fishermen who traverse the area have blamed one of their own for the death of the fish.
According to a report on CNC3 News last night, the discovery was made on Monday off Crews Inn.
The fishermen in the area said one of their colleagues left a net too long in the water which prevented the fish from leaving the shallow area.
They believe this is responsible for the death of the fish.
Pelicans have even refused to eat the dead fish.
Both the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA) have launched investigations into the fish kill.
