Three arrested for spate of robberies

TWO women and a man were arrested on Friday in connection with a spate of robberies at various beauty salons and stores in Sangre Grande.

They were held shortly after stealing a number of purses and wallets belonging to customers at Nisa's beauty salon located along the Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande.

The officers said they were told that two women had entered the salon and were enquiring about the prices to get their hair weaved. They stayed around for a short period and then left police said they were told.

It was shortly after the women had left the customers realised that their belongings were missing.

Officers said, based on the information they had received, they went to Annette's beauty salon in the vicinity of KFC where they noticed two women fitting the description given to them.

Police said the women, both 24 years old, from La Horquetta and Coalmine Sangre Grande, were approached and later found to be in possession of a number of purses and wallets containing money and other items.

Officers are also asking that anyone who may have fallen victim to visit the Sangre Grande Police Station today to identify their items.
