Three murder suspects held

Three men, who police believe were involved in a string of crimes, including murder, were arrested and two guns seized in a raid on Saturday.

The suspects, ages 22, 24 and 27, were held when police intercepted a vehicle along Rig Road, Oropouche, around 6 p.m.

Police said officers were responding to a report of a robbery at a barbecue hut in Guapo, near Point Fortin, when they spotted the vehicle.

The men — two from Carapo Village, East Trinidad and one from Pleasantville — were held. Police searched the vehicles and found two loaded 9mm pistols.

Investigators said the men were wanted for several criminal offences including armed robbery and murder.

The men were detained in police custody and are expected to appear before identification parades.
