A 16-YEAR-old Morvant girl was one of three people shot in separate attacks in La Romaine on Wednesday night.
Alexia Noriega, of Poinsettia Drive was wounded along with Dwayne Boucard, of La Romaine, and Carol Asgarali, of Vistabella.
Police said the shootings occurred at separate locations, and there was no immediate evidence they were connected.
Noriega was shot at George Street while she was visiting a friend's house, police said.
Police said that at around 8.40 p.m, someone knocked at the door and Noriega opened it.
The shooter asked for a person Noriega said she did not know.
She closed the door.
Police said a few seconds later the man knocked on the door again, and when the teenager opened it, he fired several shots at her at close range.
She was shot in the right thigh.
In another incident, Boucard, 24, of Pond Street, told police around 10.30 p.m. he was standing outside his home and businessplace Nana's Place when a silver Nissan Navara pulled up.
Two men wearing caps and bandanas over their faces, and armed with guns, approached him. The suspects fired several shots.
Boucard was shot on the left side of his face.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said a vehicle fitting that description was reported stolen from Elijah Green, of Papourie Road, Duncan Village, half an hour before the incident.
In the third incident, Asgarali was seated in a Toyota Crown with Davindra Maharaj, 32, at Southern Main Road, La Romaine, when they were approached by two men wearing bandanas over their faces. The suspects shot at them, and Asgarali was hit in the mouth.
She is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the San Fernando General Hospital.
