Tobago man killed in Chaguanas

 A 33-YEAR-OLD Tobago man was shot dead while liming at a bar in Chaguanas early yesterday morning. 

Marcus Kellar was liming at Defusion Bar in Enterprise when he was gunned down. 

Police said at around 2 a.m., Kellar and some 15 other patrons were in the business place when a man walked up to him. 

Investigators were told the man placed a firearm to Kellar’s head and pulled the trigger. 

As Kellar slumped to the ground, the gunman walked out and escaped. 

A district medical officer pronounced Kellar dead at the scene. 

Police said the bar was equipped with close circuit television cameras and the suspect was identified on video. Police said an arrest is imminent in the case. 

An autopsy was performed on Kellar’s body yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James. 

Kellar’s death took the murder toll for the year to date to 173.

On May 19 last year, the figure was 145.
