Top cop welcomes ‘any contribution’ to fight crime
ACTING Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams said that any contribution to the Police Service in terms of expertise will be welcomed.
CoP Williams responded to an offer made on Tuesday by Neal and Massy’s CEO, Gervase Warner, who, during a Chamber of Commerce post-budget forum held at Capital Plaza, Port of Spain on Tuesday, suggested a collaboration between the Police Service Commission, Police Social and Welfare Association, the TTPS and the private sector to streamline administrative functions in police station in order to improve service and increase efficiency.
Speaking to the Express yesterday Williams said, “I have not heard the offer but speaking about a partnering with the private sector and the police, I mean we will be ever so willing to accept all the support we can receive from anyone.”
He said that, “anyone who can assist in addressing the crime situation we are so willing, because we are not boxed into the traditional policing methods, and if there is innovation we are willing to partner with anyone to achieve a desired end.”
