Transparency Institute 'encouraged' by report on procurement practices

THE Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI) said yesterday it was "encouraged" by a report on procurement practices to be laid in Parliament and hopes to see a legal framework take shape in the near future.

The report has come from the Joint Select Committee appointed to consider and report to Parliament on the legislative proposals to provide for public procurement and disposal of public property and the repeal and replacement of the Central Tenders Board Act. "Over the coming days we will review this document and discuss it with fellow stakeholders before offering comment if thought necessary," the TTTI stated in a media release yesterday.
