Trio charged with murder

Two men and a 16-year-old appeared before a Scarborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday, charged with the murder of 29-year-old CEPEP worker Anton ‘Rocky’ Williams.
Williams of Mentor Alley, Laventille, was shot multiple times about the body on November 22, at his Mt St George home. It was Tobago’s fourth murder.
The trio—Joshua Phillips, 21; Masudi Mayhew, 19; and the 16-year-old boy, faced several charges before Scarborough Magistrate Nanette Forde-John.
The charges ranged from possession of a firearm between November 21 to 24, possession of two firearms between the same period, the murder of Anton Williams and larceny at the home of Donna Marchan in Mt St George. The three were not called upon to plead as the charges were laid indictably.
Phillips is being represented by attorney Keith Scotland, who through attorney Asa Archie called for disclosure of statements in the matter.
Mayhew remained unrepresented, while the 16-year-old was represented by attorney Kern Edwards.
The 16-year-old suspect and Mayhew have been remanded to the Youth Training Centre (YTC), while Phillips has been remanded to the Scarborough Prison.
All are to reappear on January 2. acting Corporal Larry Daniel is the complainant in the matter.
