Update - car thieves killed by cops identified

TWO suspected car thieves shot and killed by police during a chase through Todd's Road Village Chaguanas, have been identified.
Dead are Kareem Stewart, of Carapo, and Keron Guy, of Tunapuna.
At around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the men, part a gang of four, held up a man and his family at their home and drove away with a $150,000 Toyota Hilux. They also stole a Nissan Navara.
At around 7 a.m. Central Division police, led by Superintendent Johnny Abraham, tracked the vehicles to Todd's Road Village and during a chase, the vehicles crashed off the road. Two men in the Nissan Navara came out shooting and were able to escape. Police said there was an exchange of gunfire with the other men in the Toyota Hilux, who hijacked a AD wagon and tried leave the village. The AD wagon also crashed and it was during an encounter there that the two suspects were shot.
Police took the men to the Chaguanas District Health Facility where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Two guns were recovered from the scene.
