TWO people are reported dead following a collision in Carenage late yesterday between a Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) bus and a yellow-band maxi-taxi.

The accident took place in the vicinity of Alcoa’s plant on the Western Main Road, when the bus driver was said to have encountered an oily substance on the road and lost control of the vehicle.

The bus then hit the maxi-taxi, which was going in the opposite direction.

The driver of the maxi-taxi, Len Miguel, and a passenger in the front seat were killed.

Responding to the incident were officers of the Four Roads Police Station as well as officers from the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, and the Regiment as well which assisted in taking the injured to the St James District Hospital and the Port of Spain General Hospital. Four Roads Police are continuing investigations.
