Two in court for human trafficking

By —Carolyn Kissoon

Two Penal men are expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate this morning, charged with human trafficking.
The men, ages 27 and 31, were detained by police during a raid at a nightclub at Batchiya Trace, Penal, on Friday night.
Fifteen women and one man from the Dominican Republic were held at the club. The women were aged 15 to 44.
Police said the 15-year-old illegal immigrant was found hiding in the ceiling.
The 16 foreigners were handed over to the Immigration Division. They were being interviewed by immigration officers last evening.
