Two men in hospital after shootings

 A Cunupia man was shot while liming in Chaguanas on Thursday.

Police said Stephen Anthony Alexis, 24, of Poui Drive, Homeland Gardens, was in Bhagalloo Street, Enterprise, at around 3.30 p.m., when two men he knew approached him with firearms. 

Alexis began to run but the men opened fire on him and he was shot several times. 

He was taken to the Cha­guanas Dis-trict Health Facility and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Scien­ces Complex in Mt Hope where he is in a serious but stable condition. 

And around midday on Thursday, a Gasparillo man was shot while walking on a street near his home.

Vermil Lewis was walking along Springlands Main Road when a gunman alighted from a vehicle and fired at him. Lewis was shot in the chest and the gunman sped off in the vehicle. 

Lewis was assisted by passers-by and taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition.
