ToolsVolney sits aloneFormer justice minister Herbert Volney is now sitting alone, having withdrawn himself from the Government Whip. He now sits in the empty row behind the Opposition, on a chair directly behind Colm Imbert. Volney was however warmly greeted by his colleagues. He walked into the chamber with Rudy Indarsingh. Collin Partap was the first to greet him, followed by Ramona Ramdial, Jairam Seemungal, Fuad Khan, Suruj Rambachan, Winston "Gypsy" Peters, Tim Gopeesingh and Errol McLeod. The only COP member to approach Volney was Rodger Samuel, whom he warmly embraced. Samuel is not a member of the Cabinet. Volney has been particularly critical of the COP members of the Cabinet whom he accused of "back-stabbing" and undermining him. The PNM members Nileung Hypolite and Marlene McDonald gave him some picong. "Allyuh talking about growth. Look growth!" McDonald said to Government MPs, as she pointed at Volney. See Page 7 |
