Voter padding claim made ahead of COP's election

THE Campaign team for Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, who is a candidate for political leader in this Sunday Congress of the People (COP) executive election, on Friday claimed that there was a plan by some holding membership in the COP and another party, to vote in the COP's election. The Seepersad-Bachan team said it would be reporting any such attempt to the Fraud Squad. The following is the full statement -
The campaign team of Minister Carolyn Seepersad Bachan has become aware that there is a plan whereby persons holding dual membership with the COP and another political party, intend to vote in the COP Political Leader elections carded for Sunday June 29th. Such persons are hereby notified that this election is open only to bona fide COP members. Consequently, Minister Carolyn Seepersad Bachan's campaign team shall be monitoring all nineteen polling stations via personnel and video surveillance. Members of any other party seeking to vote in this election shall be debarred from doing so. The relevant video footage shall also be conveyed to the fraud squad of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
