Warner: Clear your name first, Kamla
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar needs to clear her name in respect of the emailgate investigations before she calls on Jack Warner to clear his name.
Speaking at a public meeting in the Croisee in San Juan on Thursday night, Warner said: “The Prime Minister said I must clear my name and then when I clear my name, I must come back to her.
“Well I want to tell the Prime Minister, that when she clears her name in Google and when she writes to Google and tells Google to release the e-mails on her and her ministers, when she makes it easy for DCP Richardson to do his job...then I will take her back with me. I ain’t going anywhere.”
The Integrity Commission has written the Prime Minister requesting that she write to Google authorising the service provider to release e-mails she sent out and received last September.
The commission made the request in relation to its investigations into the authenticity of e-mails which allegedly point to a criminal conspiracy by high office holders to pay sums to an unnamed person in respect of the Section 34 affair, to undermine the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and to injure a journalist.
The police are also investigating the e-mails which were released by Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley. —See Page 17
