Watchman found dead - cops suspect murder

...second man found burnt in shack in Tacarigua

A 60-year-old watchman who took up duties last night at a hardware in Sangre Grande was found murdered this morning.

Mohan Lall, was found dead at his workplace along the Toco Road.

According to a police report, Lall reported for work at around 9 p.m. at Dass Sawmill Hardware.

At around 5 o'clock another employee who went to open the business place found Lall dead, with marks of violence to his head.

A party of police officers of the Arouca Homicide Division, Eastern Division Task Force and Sangre Grande CID led by Senior Superintendent Ochneil Williams, ASP Ramkhelawan, and Inspector Wayne Doodhai are currently at the scene.

Police are also on the scene of a fire in Tacarigua. The Express was told that a man who lived in a shack under a bridge near a children's home, burnt to death in the fire. It is not known if the fire was deliberately set. The man was identified as Deodath Lall, 49.

Lall's killing took the murder toll to 68 in 44 days.
