A MOTHER of three charged with obscenely exposing herself, pleaded not guilty to the charge Monday.
Shamela Gokool, 46, appeared before San Fernando Magistrate Annette Mc Kenzie who read the charges that she wilfully and obscenely exposed her person, assaulted and resisted a police officer in the execution of his duty, and also used obscene language to the annoyance of people.
She was arrested on Sunday at Esperance Village, near San Fernando.
Defence attorney Ainsley Lucky said his client had no previous or pending matters before the court.
He said, Gokool, a married mother of three adult children, worked as a cleaner with the construction firm involved in the building of the San Fernando to Point Fortin Highway, and lived with her father.
Lucky asked that Gokool be allowed her own bail.
Police prosecutor Sgt Veano Ragoo made no objection.
Mc Kenzie placed Gokool on $200,000 own bail to cover all the charges.
Gokool is to reappear in court on April 7.
