Woman robbed after bank visit

 A San Fernando businesswoman was beaten and robbed of a bag containing cash on Thursday.

Police said the woman, whose name was withheld, was walking to a public car park at Princes Charles Street, San Fernando, when she was ambushed at around 4.30 p.m.

The woman was returning to her vehicle, following a business transaction at a nearby bank. Police said she was attacked by two men. 

The woman was beaten and robbed of the bag containing TT$34,000, Can$300 and US$400.

Police said two men fitting the description of the suspects were detained, but the money was not recovered.

The woman was treated at San Fernando General Hospital and discharged.

Southern Division police are investigating.
