Woman shot in face

A 39-year-old woman is currently a patient at the Port of Spain General Hospital after she was shot in the face following an incident at her Petit Valley home on Wednesday.
According to police reports, Alicia Toussaint, of Cameron Hill, Petit Valley, was asleep at her home, when several loud explosions were heard.
Other relatives who were also at home at the time of the incident heard Toussaint scream out and, upon investigating, they found her bleeding from an injury to her face.
Toussaint was rushed to the hospital, where she was treated and, according to police, is in a stable condition.
Police sources told the Express yesterday they were pursuing several leads. However, up to press time they could not confirm how or why Toussaint was shot.
