Woman chopped on face, shoulder

Following domestic dispute...

A WOMAN in her fifties was chopped during a domestic dispute last Friday and was found lying in a pool of blood early yesterday morning.

Police reports stated that Vashti Ramnarine was at her home at Mohammed Trace in Erin when she got into an argument with a man she knew.

The person who is known to the police chopped her with a cutlass several times to her face, right hand and right shoulder before fleeing the scene. Ramnarine was discovered by a relative when he returned home at 1.30 a.m.

Ramnarine is being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital.

Senior Superintendent for the Southwestern Division Franklyn Sampath, Corporal Bahadur from Santa Flora Police Station, Corporal Harrypersad and WPC Hendy from Erin Police Station visited the scene.

Police said the suspect's arrest was imminent.

Corporal Harrypersad is spearheading investigations.
