$100,000 bail for teenager on rape charges
2nd accused stays in custody

A 17-YEAR-old boy appeared in the Chaguanas Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with raping and buggering two women.
The teenager was jointly charged with 34-year-old Jermaine Ramesar, with ten offences, related to the two alleged victims.
The teenager, of Chase Village, and Ramesar, of Ragoonanan Road, Chandernagore, appeared before Chaguanas Magistrate Gillian Scotland.
The teenager and Ramesar were charged with two counts each of rape, buggery, grievous sexual assault, kidnapping, and robbery with violence.
The offences are linked to two incidents last week Sunday and last Wednesday.
The defendants were captured by villagers at Caparo and handed over to police officers last Wednesday night.
The charges were laid by Constable Roxanne Meharris of the Brasso Police Station.
The teenager was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 and ordered to return to court on December 24.
Ramesar was remanded in custody for a criminal background tracing to reappear in court on Friday.
