$3 million fire at NP chairman's Valsayn home
Police are investigating a multi million dollar fire at the home of chairman of National Petroleum (NP) Neil Gosine, a report on TV6 news stated last night.
The TV6 report said the fire broke out at Gosine's home at around 2 a.m. yesterday
Gosine is reported to have told officers at the St Joseph Police station that he heard a noise coming from the front of his house, and moments later saw smoke.
He said he then took his family to safety.
When fire officers responded they noticed a Honda Accord motor car belonging to Gosine was engulfed in flames.
An apartment building was also destroyed by the fire.
Estimated damage has been put at three million dollars.
TV6 visited the area in Valsayn yesterday but was not allowed to get footage of the burnt remains of the house.
Efforts to reach Gosine by phone yesterday also proved futile as calls to his mobile phone went unanswered.
Police have not ruled out arson but investigations are continuing.
