'Jane Doe' remains unidentified

A WOMAN who was struck and killed when she was slammed into by a Toyota Hilux during the early morning hours of January 2, along the Priority Bus Route adjacent to Aranjuez Savannah, has not been identified.

The driver of the Hilux remains at large.

Police describe the woman as being of African descent, medium build, brown skinned and she appeared to be in her early 30s.

Police also said the "Jane Doe" was wearing a multi-coloured knitted blouse and a pair of black tights.

According to the police, around 3.15 a.m. the woman was seen being run over by a black-coloured Hilux pick-up which did not stop but continued heading east along the PBR.

A team of officers from Barataria Police Station later visited the scene and the woman's body was taken to the Port of Spain Mortuary.

A post-mortem examination, which will determine the exact cause of death, cannot be done unless a relative of the woman comes forward to identify her body.

Anyone with information with regard to the identity of the woman is asked to visit Barataria Police Station urgently.

Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
