Tools'No lead in water'The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has advised customers that testing carried out on water samples taken at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant has shown an absence of, or no, lead contamination. This follows concerns which were raised of a risk to the water supply due to the possibility of lead contamination of the Arima River following development works at a Home Construction Ltd location in Santa Rosa West. Independent testing conducted by the International Analytical Group (IAG), of Florida, USA, on behalf of the Authority, revealed the absence of lead in the water produced at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, WASA said in a statement. Testing was also conducted by the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (Cariri). |
