'Our prayers are with them'

By Julien Neaves

BOTH the Government and Opposition yesterday in Parliament sent best wishes and prayers for the speedy recovery of former Prime Minister and San Fernando East MP Patrick Manning.

At the sitting of the Lower House held yesterday at Tower D, International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain, House Speaker Wade Mark noted that Manning had sought leave to be absent due to illness.

Laventille East/Morvant MP Donna Cox began her motion by saying that the Opposition bench wished him a speedy recovery "as we continue to pray for him".

National Security Minister Brigadier John Sandy said on behalf of the Government bench he joined Cox "to send our best wishes to the Member for San Fernando East and wish him a speedy recovery and let him and his family know that our prayers are with them".
