'Zero tolerance for illegal parking in the city'

THE motoring public is again being issued a warning there will continue to be a heavy presence of wreckers operating throughout the capital city and other major business areas, as the Police Service continues its Safe City Initiative.

Police public information officer ASP Joanne Archie said the initiative involves a high level of police officers "within the capital city and environs with strict enforcement of all traffic laws and other offences".

Archie made the statement yesterday during the Police Service's weekly press briefing at the Police Administration Building, Sackville Street, Port of Spain.

She renewed the call on all citizens to obey the law, saying there will be zero tolerance on indiscriminate parking.

"We are urging motorists to obey the no parking signs and strict compliance with the alternative permanently affixed signs. Vehicles in contravention will be towed."
