...party to decide on ‘ganja’ video

By Camille Bethel

Political leader of the Congress of the People (COP) Prakash Ramadhar yesterday assured the media the party will make a decision this week on the issue concerning the video in which a man looking like a Government Minister and COP member was captured wrapping what appears to be a marijuana cigarette.

Addressing the issue which was raised at a media conference at the party’s flagship House on Broome Street, Woodbrook, yesterday, Rama-

dhar said: “I will give you this guarantee that the party will take control of this situation, and right here, a team met with Mr Anil Roberts (Minister of Sport) and he exercised his constitutional right, I understand, to remain silent, but I made the point before that this is a political issue and the party will meet this week coming and then chart the way forward.”

In previous statements, Roberts has neither confirmed nor denied he appeared in the video.

He said as important as the issue is, the party will treat with it in the manner and form due to it with due process.
