Bovell tops 50m freestyle heats

George Bovell, Trinidad and Tobago's 2004 Olympic swimming bronze medallist, posted the fastest time in the heats of the 50-metre freestyle event at the Aquatics Centre on Thursday.

Bovell topped Heat 6 with a time of 21.77 seconds with Brazil's Cesar Cielo recording the second fastest time of 21.80 in winning Heat 8.
