ToolsPhillip runs red hotTrinidad and Tobago cyclist Njisane Phillip continued his red hot streak at London's Cycling Velodrome when he defeated Denis Dmitriev of Russia in straight rides in the quarterfinals of the match sprint on Sunday. Dmitriev was highly fancied to progress after posting a time of 10.088 seconds (5th) to Phillip's 10.202 (10th) in the "Flying 200." Both men were comfortable winners of their round of 32 and round of 16 match-ups, however, Phillip rode two tactically executed rides to move into the last four. Phillip faces Great Britain's Jason Kenny in Monday's semifinal as he continues his quest for an Olympic medal. Most Popular |
