Thompson hunts another sprint medal

Richard "Torpedo" Thompson progressed to the semifinal round of the men's 100 metres with an opening run of 10.14 seconds in Round 1 action at the Olympic Stadium in London.

Thompson, silver medallist at the 2008 Games in Beijing, took second spot behind Tyson Gay of the USA (10.08), as he seeks to capture another Olympic sprint medal.
