Trinidad and Tobago’s Stephen Ames has made a strong start to his new campaign on the Champions Tour, carding a three-under 68 in the second round of the Senior PGA Championship, yesterday.

Playing at Harbour Shores, Ames followed up his opening round even-par 71 on Thursday with another solid round, to be three-under 139 overall. Ames turned 50 last month, making him eligible for the seniors tour.

He was tied for sixth, one shot off the lead held by five players, including Tom Watson, Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer.
