Moosai aim to retain TTWCA League title

Moosai Sports Club can retain the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Cricket Association (TTWCA) 40-Over League Premiership title tomorrow when they face Phoenix Women at Couva East Secondary from noon.

The defending champions are on 15 points, three clear of Technocrats, who will not play today as they are on a bye.

Cricket Lovers are six points behind the leaders with nine and they play MAAAD Rangers at midday also, but even with a win in that match at Pinto Road Recreation Ground, they will not be able to catch Moosai, provided the latter get full points against Phoenix.

There is one round left in the Premiership, which will bowl off next weekend.

In the Championship Division, the T20 action bowls off today with Achievers Women facing Players Sports Club at Sancho Recreation Ground in St Julien.

That is the first of four matches this weekend, with the other three tomorrow.

Those matches will see UWI host Hibiscus and West Side Giants from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively at UWI SPEC’s Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground on the St Augustine campus.

The third fixture will feature South West United and Players Sports Club, who do battle at Fanny Village Recreation Ground from 2 p.m.
